Medicare Advantage Plans*

Health plans that combine your Part A and Part B coverage.  Some of these plans may include options like dental and vision. Advantage Plans are offered by private companies that contract with Medicare and include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, all Medicare services are covered through the plan. Most Medicare Advantage Plans include Part D prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Part D Plans

We can help you understand how Part D plans differ, and more importantly, show you how to evaluate which plan closest meets your needs and budget.  Plus we can explain the Part D "Donut Hole" and give tips on how to reduce your Rx costs.

Medicare Supplement Plans

Also known as Medigap plans. They are sold by private companies, and can help pay all or some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Some Medigap policies also offer coverage for services that Original Medicare doesn't cover, like medical care when you travel outside the U.S. A Medigap policy is different from a Medicare Advantage Plan.

Medicare for under 65 year olds who qualify with disability

If you qualify for Social Security Disability, after 24 months you will automatically be enrolled into Medicare Parts A & B. In some states, you have the right to purchase a Medigap plan without being turned down due to your health history.  If under 65 Medigap plans are available in your state, you must apply for the Medigap plan within 6 months of your Part B effective date to qualify without having to answer health questions.  You can also evaluate if you need to enroll in a Part D prescription drug plan.

If you missed the under 65 Medigap guarantee issue period immediately following your Part B effective date, you will get another guarantee issue period later in the month you actually turn age 65.  We can help you with this process.

* Medicare Advantage plans are much lower in monthly premium, but offer different benefit structures than Medicare Supplements. Our highly-trained agents can help you evaluate your actual costs considering copays, chronic illness, prescription drugs and more beyond just the monthly premium.
